ISSUE 1

Mi and L’au

Mi and L’au is short for Mira Romantschuk and Laurent Leclère. The music they create is elegant and ethereal, similar to the story of them finding each other. It was in Paris. Laurent, who was French, was working on soundtracks and Mira, Finnish, was trying to sustain herself as a model. They met and immediately fell in love. After briefly trying to live in the city they moved to a cabin in the woods in the outskirts of Finland. The music they make comes directly out of the isolation, beauty, and love that place provided.

You have to imagine that you live in a shop, but it doesn't matter, not only because you moved from one place to another twelve times in three months, but because you have a roof over your head and a friend that spontaneously decided to help you ... When the shop opens, you have to leave, because the boss is coming. So you walk around and walk around and walk around. At night, you come back. The shop is now closed. A transvestite, your neighbor, is still working. This guy is full of delicacies. While he is doing others, not to disturb anyone, he puts Mozart on the stereo. There it is, the concerto for clarinet, over and over again. And Verdi, sometimes, but only the openings. On the other side you have Lulu, the other prostitute. She is 78 years old. Her job is to crucify her clients or change their dippers or something else. This night, she got attacked. The guy attached her and then beat the shit out of her. He robbed her. She finally got rid of her ropes and put a knife into the belly of the " kid " like she would call him later. I mean, she didn't have no choice. Our question was " how did you get rid of those ropes lulu ? " ... IT*S MY JOB was her answer. She told us so many stories. The least we can do is to write a book about her. You will soon know, not only her adventures, but the little secrets of the many politicians who still are her clients.
