Luke Ramsey

We reached out to many people in the process of compiling PRISM index. Luke was one of the more natural choices when looking for contributors. He has been producing artwork for years and has developed a zine/book style all his own. Through Island Folds, Luke and his partner Angela Conley have run an independent publishing house and art sanctuary (artist residency) for almost 3.5 years. They’ve hosted many talented and inspirational artists such as Matt Furie, Andrew Neyer, and Nicolas Burrows, and nearly 30 others to speak of. The space Luke has created for himself allows him to work intimately, learn from, and teach all of the fellow artists while making friends and having fun. Luke’s art is completely original and you can let it pierce your mind at the Islands Fold website and blog.

Memo:

I left my home looking for God. I looked in all the libraries, churches and temples. I looked in the forest. I even looked in the shopping mall. I found nothing. I talked to people about where I should look. People pointed in so many different directions that my head began to spin. Some said there was no such thing as God. Some said God is everywhere, even in the Shopping Mall. I had a second look just to be sure. Still found nothing. Some said searching for God is the same as finding God. That response worked for me. I was tired of looking so I went home. There was a note on my front door.
It said: " Luke, Hope you found what you were looking for. Welcome home. -Love God"
