Jeremy Bradley Earl
Jeremy Bradley Earl is the mastermind behind the DIY labels Fuck It Tapes and Woodsist, as well as willing musical participant in Meneguar/Shepherds/Woods. However, what he does and still continues to hone, which is of particular interest to PRISM index, is create his own persona through art. Not only has Earl been playing and distributing music for a number of years, but has in fact almost branded a style. Numerous amounts of the records he releases have his artwork gracing the cover or back. His style ranges from a stream of consciousness pen and ink, except his mind seems filled symbolist and Aztec images, then to vintage abstract collages or photographs. He fleshes out musical ideas through three distinct and wonderful bands, and further defines himself by releasing his friends, mentors, and various unknowns’ albums. Woodsist andFuck It Tapes release beautifully hand-crafted, usually vinyl or cassette, albums and ep’s from a variety of bands that continually seem to “blow-up.” Woodsist has releases by Vivian Girls, Waaves, Woods, Crystal Stilts, and many more. Many of the records released by Jeremy are PRISM index favorites and friends: Warmer Milks, Viking Moses, Jana Hunter, Pocahaunted, with releases even by James Jackson Toth’s Wooden Wand (Toth’s poetry appears in PRISM index #1 print edition). It was a great pleasure to connect dots with Jeremy and now share two of his pieces, “Piss Test” and “Cards” in the PRISM index #1 printed section.
