Golden Ghost
Golden Ghost, the band, is fronted by Laura Goetz who mostly lives in Endicott, NY, but also mostly lives nowhere in particular. It began in 2007 while in Brooklyn/Queens and Golden Ghost has been mostly touring ever since. Golden Ghost mostly spends its non-music-making-and-drawing-pictures time in meditation or doing handstands in the grass or reading books about such things. A cover of Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby,” appears on the mix CD. Two drawings and a napkin of Laura’s find their way into the print section of the PRISM index #1.
Memo:
Brendon (Viking Moses) and I woke up one morning to discover that we both had had trouble sleeping because, as it turned out, we both felt that our souls had been trying to break free of our bodies. I told him that I had sensed this and also that the soul had been clinging too stubbornly to my body for it to make it’s escape, and so I had been trying to wrestle it free in my half sleep. Brendon looked surprised. “That’s the difference between you and me,” he said. “I was holding on for dear life!” He seemed concerned that my way of thinking was some sort of death wish, but I assured him that if I had succeed it would only be like having puppy on one of those leashes that can be released a long way then snapped tight again, for though my spirit might feel itself suddenly free to sniff around, surely it will be a long time still that this master, the lowly vessel, has its leash securely in hand.
