Diane Cluck
Diane is an American singer/songwriter, whose tendencies lie in anti-folk. She plays many of the instruments on her records. Her songs are loping acoustic ballads that roll over themselves with slightly discordant tones and harmonies. Diane has carved out a very specific style for herself in music, but expands it with her sketch and collage artwork. She does much of her own album art, similar to many of the artists featured in PRISM index: Michael Hurley, Jeremy Bradley Earl, Golden Ghost, Prince & Pearl, Dan Reeder and others. Her artwork is an extension of her style: tiny mystical creatures peeking out and swinging through the page. Some of the drawings consist of cutouts of her creatures pasted onto an even more intricate background creating a space for these things to live and breath. One can see her pieces “Untitled 01” and “Garbrick” in PRISM’s print section.
