Dan Reeder

Dan is a wonderful visual artist with a flair for deadpan absurdity. He currently lives in Germany where he continues to paint and draw. You can check out a tiny little comic of his in PRISM index #1.

In the states, Dan is probably better known for his music. He has two records out on John Prine’s record label, Oh Boy Records. However, he still considers himself a painter and not as a musician. If you are unfamiliar with the peculiar style (Dan made all of his instruments, mixer, and harmonizes with himself) and story of Mr. Reeder read his note to Prine, which managed to land him the record deal. He exe mplifies the beauty and honesty of what an artist can do when crossing over mediums. Dan’s song “Food and Pussy” closes out the short film “Asshole” on PRISM index #1 DVD.
