Chadd Harbold is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a co-founder of production company Last Pictures. In 2008, he directed “Asshole,” a dark comedy that landed him at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. He followed this up by directing a music video for NYC-based rapper Nyle for his song “Let the Beat Build,” which in a month’s time went from YouTube to Kanye West’s blog to MTV. He is currently in development on an “Asshole” sequel, titled “Prick,” as well as a feature version. In 2009, he directed “One Night Only,” starring Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live, Knocked Up) and Garret Dillahunt (No Country for Old Men). It is itself a short version of a feature, also in development, titled Down in New York Town.
“Asshole” appears on PRISM index #1 DVD.
It stars Gavin McInnes in his first film role. According to Gavin he is, “a fucking piece of shit on the bottom of your shoe that likes to talk to animals and get lost in the cold. His best friend is a 2 foot tall fat woman and he gets beat up about once a day. He started Vice Magazine with two other guys back in 1994 and recently split to do his own stuff. He's been a cartoonist and a singer of punk.” He now runs the website and blog, Street Boners, and his friend, Derrick Beckles, runs TV Carnage of “Street Boners and TV Carnage.”
Memo:
Are You an Asshole?
Vincent Allen (Gavin McInnes) is an asshole, and today, he has a doctor’s appointment. He wants to get in and out as quickly as possible, but Dr. Wong, stubbornly clinging to his Hippocratic oath, insists on actually examining him. Agitated and impatient, Vincent spends the session viciously tearing into the doctor. He is bitter, angry, and volatile. But Dr. Wong isn’t easily fazed, and just might be able to help him with his asshole problems.
